About 8 weeks ago my husband and I were thrown a curve ball and an expected opportunity just like that. Not even in the market to move, but totally obsessed with mls (not a good combination) I came across a house that look really nice. A few upgrades from our current home, a few extra bedrooms and parking were the biggest things that peaked my interest to check it out. So we did! We contacted our realtor and set up an appointment only to see it was a terribly busy street, slighly ghetto area and we both preferred our current house for $100,000 less. Little did we know our realtor had something different in mind. He asked us politely if we’d be interested in following him 10mins west of where we were to see something he thought we’d really fall in love with. It was a Wednessday afternoon, Hank was asleep in his carseat so what the heck, we said yes!

Much to our surpirse he brought us to something we didn’t expect to love as much as we did. Gorgeous detached 4 bedroom 4 bathroom, custom built, brand new home. Absolutely stunning, but come one did we really  need to move? We both agreed we were maybe being a little bit impulsive and maybe in a year we would revisit the idea. Until of course a few days later we were STILL talking about this house, how awesome it would be to play hockey with Hank in the driveway when he grows up, the extra space, the layout, the backyard this and that…What do we do? We don’t need to move. Well we decided to put in an offer and take it from there (again probably  not the best idea if your not looking to move haha).  Of course we got it and totally excited came to terms with the fact that THIS was all meant to be. We listed our house that we had only been in for exactly a year and three weeks later it sold making the whole deal complete.

With 30 days to pack up and move into our “forever house” hubby, Hank, Harley and I are super excited we were able to act on the unexpected and make the best decision for all of us with ease. Again, knowing what we want our life to look like 1 year from now, 5 years, 10 years and even further we knew this fit into the plan perfectly and would keep us on course to keep creating the ulitmate life possible for our family.

Some of the best moments in life are the ones that aren’t planned, but having a plan is what will help you recognize and accept those magical moments the universe throws at you so you can make the right decision and continue on your journey.

4 More sleeps and we start another chapter of “forever”. Can’t wait!

This week Hank got to attend his first birthday parties. One for a best friend Max who turned 1 and the other was for his twin cousins Milo and Finn who also just turned 1.

I have to say both parties were done to the nines and I couldn’t believe the attention to detail both of these super spent time on in order to make the parties a success. I’m talking champagne, sangria, homemade guacamole, chocolate dipped strawberries, cake balls….the list goes on! I hope Hank doesn’t think THIS is what every party will be like, he certainly had a taste of perfection though and you party mama’s definitely raised the bar on what a first birthday party is all about!

I know, it has been months..what can I say – life has certainly been fast and exciting with never a spare or dull moment to fill in the gaps. I guess I will rewind and properly fill you in with the biggest joy that has been keeping me so occupied.

Back on December 5th, 2012 my husband and I were blessed with the most amazing little baby anyone could possibly wish for. Little Hank William was born and our lives were forever changed. It was such a wonderful time, a few weeks before Christmas to have this perfect little person to love and explore. I have to admit you lose track of all time because you are so in love you don’t want to take your eyes off of him and risk missing a single breath. So that in a nutshell is where my heart, my eyes, my mind and every other bit of me has been these last few months. Soaking up the love our little angel has brought into our lives.

The good new is I’m back. Little Hank is now 3 months old and he is a wonderful sleeper which gives mommy time to squeeze in her favorite things to do without missing a beat. I’m super excited to share with all of you all of our adventures, milestones, and fun stories as they come into our life and unfold one at a time.

With this new baby and new life, quickly came a new year, with new goals and new adventures. We are soooo excited to take one 2013 and see what amazing twists and turns it will have.

I wanted to take the time to write a post about how drastically my life has changed because of my Network Marketing business. A lot of people have different perceptions on becoming a Network Marketer and among the good ones some of those perceptions are bad ones. I can assure you if you take the time to read this post and understand how incredible it can make your life, with an open mind you might just be surprised. The purpose of this article is really to help people understand that having a network marketing business IS being an entrepreneur, but with so many more perks and possibilities.

As you probably already know I started my journey as an entrepreneur with a clothing business called Sexy Monkey Inc. This business was such an amazing journey and I appreciate every challenge and thrill it offered in the 5 years it was a part of my life. But to be honest, I was broke because every penny I owned or made went right back into my business, I had zero time to live life and enjoy my mid twenties with all my friends because I was constantly working on keeping up with orders and growing my business. I was a one woman show, responsible for designing, creating, buying, marketing, promoting, accounting etc etc. While all my friends looked at me like I had “made it”, because my company was featured on different TV shows and in magazines all the time, I was infact broke, tired, burnt out and living in my parents basement. Sounds pretty amazing right? haha

My Life as an Entrepreneur

When I decided to close the door on my first entrepreneurship venture, I didn’t realize something so much greater was in store. I wasn’t sure what to do as I  knew deep down I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I wanted to have the time freedom and no boss so what next, but I thought I had already tried that option, When I started to look into the opportunity of Network Marketing the things that really appealed to me were pretty obvious. Time freedom, financial freedom in 3-5 years, better health and helping others. HELLO how could one possibly say no to that option? I had no idea what direct sales or Network Marketing really was, so I didn’t have a bad opinion about it at all, and all I really knew was a lovely lady I went to high school with had been doing it for 3.5 years and was making roughly $10,000/month in residual income. If she could do it, so could I, and if I can do it, SO CAN YOU! So there I was on another entrepreneurial venture, much different then the first, let me explain to you why.

Being a Network Marketing entrepreneur is challenging but soooo incredibly rewarding. I started motivated by the money and the intention of being a stay at home mom with a residual income of $10,000/month within three years. Its now been almost 4 years and with a baby on the way, my husband and I count our blessings everyday for taking the leap of faith and trusting this could be our vehicle to freedom before we were 35.

So how does it differ so much from being an entrepreneur? I’ve made a list of just a few reasons why. 

• I’m not broke.
• I have no debt.
• The investments required for the business betters my health instead of runs me down.
• I threw out my alarm clock.
• I have time freedom to spend however I like with no pressures or constantly beeping phone with messages that stress me out.
• I have a wonderful team to work with who support me and make building a business fun instead of lonely.
• My income has never been greater which allows my husband and I do things we never thought were possilbe this early on in life.
• I have the opportunity to expand internationally with no worries, research or headaches of figuring things out myself.
• I have the best customer service team there to help my customers and associates at all times.
• My business is virtually portable so I can work from anywhere I choose too.
• 10hrs a week is plenty of time to spend building and expanding.
• I have opportunities to teach and inspire others to be great.
• I have time and income to build another business that is simply a passion. 
• I get to focus time and attention on others rather than just myself.
• I have a residual income.
• Constant personal development.
• We have an incredible tax shelter.
• I get to be a stay at home mom.
• I have created a legacy that I will pass down to my children.
• Allows me to coach other to be successful entrepreneurs.

As you can see being a Network Marketing entrepreneur isn’t so bad after all. I can truly say that it has changed my life forever and that if people could get over it being a “bad thing” or a “pyramid scheme” and could see the potential of spending 3 years creating an incredible residual income, they could spend the rest of their lives doing whatever they choose to do.

For the entrepreneurs out there, everyone of you should consider having one of these along side your current business. I think back and imagine where I could have taken my Sexy Monkey company had I had the extra residual income, the energy from the products, the business knowledge I’ve gained, and the team to help promote and build my company. It would have enriched my business on so many levels. I have recently partnered with Entrepreneur extraordinaire Jen Groover, she is a perfect example to why you should never be too humble about your own business to partner with another company and network. Can you ever really have too many streams of income?

So be open minded, no matter what your situation is now, I think everyone can benefit from this incredible business model. I’m living proof that it works and can help create the best life ever for you and your family.

Network Marketing is a powerful form of entrepreneurship and I’m so grateful I embraced it and was able to make the distinction so other could see its not just about selling and asking people to do you a favor, it’s something that can help teach you how to live a beautiful life.

Learn to love it and you will love your life too!

While enjoying our time off and shopping the streets in Vancouver, I feel in love with a beautiful cocktail ring at Tiffany and Co. It could have been that it was 9 carats and absolutely breath taking, but it certainly had something to do with the stone. The ring was called Tiffany Sparklers - In deed it did sparkle and catch  my attention that’s for sure.

Hello my beautiful friends,

I have to apologize for being a bit MIA for the last few weeks. After a wonderful but busy summer, it seemed I got carried away with some travel and relaxation getting ready for the beautiful fall weather that is fast approaching us. So where have I been, and what have I been up too? Here is a little recap to fill you in…

Salt Lake City - In mid August I was in Salt Lake City Utah for the Usana Health Science International Convention. Ever been to SLC? It is absolutely gorgeous and I love going back every to visit. This year however, was a BIG year. Being their 20th year anniversary the company went above and beyond to make this live event the best one yet. Not only was every associate surprised with a brand new iPad to take home, we were graced with the presence of sooooo many incredible speakers, including Dr. Oz, Darren Hardy, Dr. Libby Weaver, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Jen Groover, Carmen Marshall, and so many more! I got to spend the 5 days with some amazing friends and wonderful business partners, was spoiled with endless free massages in the VIP lounge, got to reconnect and see some Usana family from all over the globe, and was incredibly inspired to seriously take my business to the next level. Watch out, there is so much in store

Usana 20th Annual Convention Fun!

Next Stop – Cottage! Shortly after coming home from SLC my husband and I, with our beautiful puppy packed out bags again to spend sometime at the cottage with my sister, her husband and their 4 beautiful little boys. Fishing, scrabble, afternoon dock siestas and wonderful dinners made for a few fun days with family in the northern air.

Next Stop – Vancouver! A few days after returning from the cottage we repacked out bags, met my parents at YYZ and jet setted to Vancouver for a jam packed weekend of visits with friends and celebration. Not only were did we celebrate the beautiful 44 year marriage of my parents we got to see dear friends walk down the aisle and start their journey together as husband and wife. We spent time at the spa, had some incredibly indulgent dinners, walked the streets and explored the shops, and got to visit with old friends and family. What a fabulous 4 days that was.

Amongst all this travel, my husband and I have started to get the nursery ready and are extremely excited about the arrival of our new little bundle of love. I’m now 7 months and feel fabulous. The bump in growing quickly and the active little bugger keeps it rather exciting. We also managed to squeeze in another wedding, 3D ultrasound, a photo shoot for Canadian Family Magazine (check out the November issue ) couples massages, many afternoon naps and so many other wonderful moments.  

I have to say that having time freedom and a flexible schedule to live life and enjoy it to its fullest is one of the most rewarding things I have experienced from my home based business. Although I did feel a bit guilty not posting the Crystal of the Week post or keeping all of you wonderful friends in the loop, it was such a fantastic few weeks of spending time with special people, being inspired day by day, and enjoying the simple pleasure living!   

Labradorite is a rather interesting stone. The colours of this stone is what initially drew me into to love it and want to learn more about how it could help others or positively enhance my life. It comes in two very different colours, an irridecent dark grayish black with hints of a beautiful blue, or a gorgeous and break taking butter yellow.

Labradorite is a power stone and a stone that helps to raise consciousness. It connects to universal energies and allows you to see through illusions and determine the actual form of your dreams and goals. It is excellent for strengthening intuitions and helps to deflect negative and unwanted energy from the aura.

It is also a calming stone and helps to clear chatter or overactive clutter in the mind. It gives energy boosts to the imagination and helps to build and form new and fresh ideas.

From a healing perspective, this stone is used to treat eye disorders, the brain and helps to relieve stress and balance the metabolism. It helps with colds, balancing the hormones and alleviates menstrual tension.

The Yellow Labradortite has a few other interesting properties I thought were worth sharing. On top of all the amazing this listed about, the yellow stones enhances visualization, clairvoyance and channeling. It is expands higher wisdom, as well as heals some major organs such as the stomach, spleen, liver, gallbladder and adrenal glands.
