Week 1 – Moonstone

Moonstone is a stone of “New Beginnings” so I thought it was the perfect way to begin the new year and our journey together in learning about stones and crystals.

It is generally categorized as a “womens stone” but that is only because it is filled with  passive, receptive and femine energy.

Moonstone promotes intuition and empathy. It is traditionally used to enhance psychic abilities or to help develop clairvoyance.

Emotionally moonstone calms stress and instability. It is said to stabalize emotions and help draw out old emotional patterns so that one can understand their actions and then dissolve them.

Moonstone helps heal the digestive and reproductive systems.  It also have very positive healing affects on the female reproductive organs helping to alleviate menstrual tension and distress. Being a stone so greatly accepted and appreciated by females it is an excellent for conception, pregnancy and childbirth as well as breastfeeding and motherhood.

It is as stone of protection, especially at night in under the moon. So it is a great stone for people who work in the evening or travel at night.

Moonstone is a stone of wishes, intution and balance and helps us become more comfortable and intouch with our feminine side.

It is most commonly a milky cream or white, but can also be can also be found in a yellow, blue or green colour.
